May Day/documentaries

Post by marxonwheels »

happy may day everyone!

someone i know just pointed me towards this documentary about GM and the death of streetcars in LA. thought this group would find it interesting: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p-I8GDklsN4

if anyone else has any documentaries about organized labor or its struggles over the years, feel free to drop them here.

happy may day!

i highly recommend watching Harlan County, USA (1976). directed and produced by barbara kopple, she flew into harlan, kentucky to document striking miners and the struggles their families faced. it's available on the criterion channel.

Matewan (1987) isn't a documentary, but it's a decent portrayal of the battle of matewan that took place in west virginia in 1920.
